Hi, am new to the forum and to essential oils.  Purchased a glass nebulizer, some EO's, and added about 10 drops to the glass (5 cinnamon and 5 sweet orange).  Turned it on and can only run it about 3 minutes as the smell is way too strong.  The same thing happened the day before with the company's "signature blend".  Can you dilute the oils some way before you add them to the nebulizer to make the fragrance less powerful?

Thanks for your help[smile]

Essential oils are very strong and concentrated substances. That's why adding 10 drops of essential oils is too much for your nebulizer. You can usually use up to 3 drops of essential oils in 100 ml of water (around 3.38 fl. Oz). See what the capacity of your nebulizer's reservoir is and make sure it has timer options. If it has then set it to release the mist at a reasonable time to conserve your essential oils and allow your senses to recover after inhalation.

Good luck and enjoy those amazing scents!

Thank you for taking time to respond[smile]  The nebulizer I have runs for 2 minutes and then off for 1.  After 2 hours it completely turns off.  Was confused as the instructions say not to use with water.....just pure EO.  Also just read on this site that EO's don't agree with cats.  I have two[frown]  May end up giving the nebulizer to my daughter to enjoy.
